Yes We Can

Can you feel it?

History in the making, the first black President in the White House. It is not his race, even though it is the cherry on the cake, but it is the manner in which Barack Obama has reached out to such a diverse group of people, invigorating hope, motivating change, unifying a slipping nation.

When the camera panned over the large turnout at Chicago to watch Obama give his speech, I was in awe. When he addressed the crowd, I was inspired even as an outsider. American politics was the hot topic of discussion today. And mind you, we just had a Canadian election, one that did not spark any form of promise. See, that is how he affects everyone.

I think every country needs an Obama-figure to come into prominence now and then. America has begun its fight to the top once again. But there are insurmountable expectations of him - bust or boom? "Yes we can," says Obama. "Yes we will," says America. So yes, yes he will because they will be there to support and push him.

Change is here.
