Parents in town
My parents were in town for 3 weeks for my sister's convocation. To be honest, I was dreading their lengthy stay, because based on prior experiences, it always included huge disagreements and fights, and the restriction of what I can or would do with them around 24/7. Besides, it was also the first time seeing them since I came out to them last summer, and in case you are not aware, it was disappointingly unpleasant (we did briefly talk about it in person using coded messages and I am hoping I got through to them a little more).
So it surprises me to say, this stay of theirs turned out to be the best so far and I am missing them a great deal more since they left last night, reasons being that my parents treated us more as adults, giving us the space and time we needed even when living in such close quarters.
It definitely has been a nice change having them around but I am ready for independent living once more!
